On December 14, 2021, the South Fork Conservancy, the City of Atlanta, Park Pride, and many additional supporters and friends gathered to cut the ribbon and official open the Confluence Bridge. The $2.5 million project provides a pedestrian connection to trails along the South and North forks of Peachtree Creek. In addition to connecting nearby neighborhoods to trails and parkland, it also provides linkages to three regional trails — PATH400 and eventually, the Atlanta BeltLine and Peachtree Greenway.
This project was supported by a Park Pride Legacy Grant, one of the largest award in the organization’s history. “This is one of the most ambitious projects our organization has ever supported,” said Park Pride Executive Director, Michael Halicki. “South Fork Conservancy is blazing new trails and taking a bold step with this pedestrian bridge to connect Atlantans to more greenspaces and natural waterways.”
