New team member alert! Park Pride is excited to welcome Hannah Jones as the new Marketing & Communications Manager.
Hannah is an Atlanta-area native with a background in journalism and a strong passion for the outdoors. She graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and, for three years, she worked as a local journalist – helping tell Atlanta’s stories with a focus on the intersection of the environment and urban life. Hannah’s favorite pastime is taking long walks through Atlanta’s beautiful parks.

What does the “power of parks” mean to you?
Parks offer a much-needed respite from the bustle of the city, allowing us to tap into our natural surroundings and the beauty that comes with it. This wouldn’t be possible without our parks!
Why are parks an important part of the community?
Parks bring people together – whether that’s friends sharing a picnic, a family taking a bike ride or people attending a festival. These outdoor spaces are integral for a connected, thriving community.
What are you most excited about regarding your new role?
This is an exciting combination of my two loves – the outdoors and words! Through this blend of my personal interests and professional skills, I look forward to supporting Park Pride’s mission to ensure that everyone has easy access to a quality park.
How do you hope to empower communities to engage and make a difference in their neighborhood parks?
In this new role, I look forward to helping tell the stories of Atlanta residents who are champions for their local parks, while encouraging others to join!
What’s your favorite park memory?
It’s hard to pick just one! Every spring, I make sure to visit Arabia Mountain to see the rock face covered in diamorpha – a rare plant that turns red before donning small, white blooms. It’s magical.
Favorite Atlanta park (and why)?
My heart belongs to Piedmont Park. (And I know I’m not the only one!) The rolling green hills, incredible view of the skyline, plenty of walking paths and the best picnicking spots – it has it all.
