Join Park Pride and the Friends of Hairston Park in celebration of Earth Day!

In honor of Earth Day, let’s celebrate all the benefits that parks provide to our urban environment at a volunteer project! You are invited to come experience Hairston Park, a beautiful DeKalb County park boasting a new playground, fitness trail, two lakes and a great trail system that will take you around the lakes and through the forest.

For this Earth Day project, volunteers will be working side-by-side with neighbors to:

• help open and clear overgrown trails,
• make a forested area next to the playground a safer space for kids to play,
• and pick up litter that has found its way into the park.

Bring your fishing pole and consider sticking around after the workday to try your luck at catching some fish (one neighbor recently caught an 8 lb bass!).

This is a family-friendly volunteer opportunity… so bring your family and friends!
