Stewardship Walk and Volunteer Session
Neighbors and friends of Grove Park are invited to participate in the continued restoration efforts of this special and unique remnant old-growth forest. Master Naturalist Kathryn Kolb will lead a refresher on identifying high-value native species and how to target sensitive areas for Invasive removal. This volunteer session will focus primarily on English Ivy removal followed by a creek walk to learn more about what has been accomplished and what the next steps are for future restoration. These skills are valuable and can be applied to any forest or woodland area in our region- maybe even your backyard. Water long sleeves, long pants, closed toe shoes, and work gloves are recommended.
