On December 8, Park Pride’s 10-year anniversary of working in DeKalb County was honored with a proclamation at the Board of Commissioners monthly meeting.
We are so proud of our partnership with DeKalb and the countless volunteers and donors who have amplified our impact and made our work possible.
Through the years, Park Pride has worked with 75 Friends of the Park groups in DeKalb County.
Decade in DeKalb By the Numbers
- 18,335 volunteers coordinated to support park projects
- 66,091 volunteer hours committed to park improvements
- 5 conceptual park master plans created through the Park Visioning Program
- $620,000 awarded to Friends of the Park groups for capital park improvements
Our successful partnership would not have been possible without the dedication of Friends of the Park members who have cared for their communities and nurtured their greenspaces over the last 10 years, and of course, DeKalb’s Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Affairs.
