About

What municipal district will this park workday be located in?
0 of 80 max characters
The name should be inviting and informative, but still concise. Avoid using the word "volunteer" in the title if possible! Speak exactly to what volunteers will be doing. Try to incorporate your group's name "Friends of (your park's name) Clean Up".
0 of 160 max characters
Yes, there is a 160 character limit! Research has shown that this is the ideal length to be most compelling to volunteers and results in higher sign-ups and show-ups. Give a sense of what activities are involved in this opportunity. Opportunities that are actionable (which means that there is a specific next step for that volunteer to take) perform best. Sometimes this means a specific time and place to be (in person or online!), or it may also mean a specific task to undertake.
Would you like this opportunity to be open to the public or a private event only shared with specific people?

This space is to illustrate what the volunteers will be doing to advance your organization’s mission, and how it will impact your work. * Encourage them to bring friends + family. * Talk about what volunteers mean to your org + your community. * Tell them they're a part of your impact, and be specific about what that is.
0 of 225 max characters
Set expectations for the volunteer's role in the workday: What will volunteers be asked to do? Any special skills or (lack of!) preferred / required / welcome ? Note: this drives volunteer retention more than any other!

Are you using the Atlanta Community Tool Bank* for tool rental on this project?
*The Atlanta Community Tool Bank is a non-profit organization that rents tools to other non-profits, schools, churches, and other charitable organizations. They rent their tools at a nominal fee of 3% of the tool’s value. The ACTB has tools for any projects that include building, landscaping, painting, farming, and gardening. They also have an events section that includes items such as tables, chairs, tents, and games for any special event.
All Friends of the Park group projects are required to pay for and pick up their own tool orders unless otherwise instructed by the Director of Community Services. Any Friends of the Park groups that are interested in having their own account can set up a login and password with the tool lending specialist under our Friends of the Parks account. If volunteer groups have a one-time request, Park Pride can put in the order for the group.
