Park Pride is Growing!

Shannon Roudebush Joins the Park Pride Team!

Earlier this year, Park Pride excitedly welcomed Shannon Roudebush to the team as the Sponsorship and Annual Fund Manager. In this position, she works closely with sponsors and donors to expand the influence and impact of Park Pride’s mission.

Shannon graduated from the College of Charleston in 2018 with a bachelor’s in Arts Management. Prior to joining Park Pride, she fundraised for theaters and museums before realizing she wanted to realign herself with a mission that focused on nature, health, and greenpaces. As a child, she had a deep love for the outdoors and wildlife, a passion that has continued through adulthood. On any given day you can find her hiking, playing sports, or napping in a hammock. Shannon is thrilled to be joining the team at Park Pride and looks forward to utilizing her skillset to uplift the people and parks in Atlanta.

What does the “power of parks” mean to you?

The “Power of Parks” is the mental and physical nourishment that only nature and greenspaces can fulfill.

Why are parks an important part of the community?

Parks draw people out of their busy lives to slow down, reset, and have fun. They bring out the inner child in everyone—an important and necessary ingredient for good health.

What are you most excited about regarding your new role?

I’m excited to connect with Atlanta businesses and tell them the story of Park Pride. I look forward to connecting them with their communities and assisting them to uplift their neighbors.

How do you hope to empower communities to engage and make a difference in their neighborhood parks?

By fundraising for Park Pride, I hope to provide communities with the resources and opportunities needed to improve their neighborhood greenspaces and parks. Through Park Pride’s support, individuals can make the improvements they consider most important to their community.

What’s your favorite park memory?

Picnicking in Hampton Park in Charleston with my family.

Favorite Atlanta Park (and why)?

The Fourth Ward Skatepark Field. I often run into friends of mine there and if I don’t, it is the easiest place to meet people!
