You’re invited to a Friends of the Park Orientation, hosted by Park Pride’s Community Building team! This event is designed to bring our entire Friends of the Park network together — whether your group is brand new, growing fast, or has been active for years — for an update on what’s happening at Park Pride and a chance to connect with fellow park stewards in your area.

Over the past few months, we’ve met with many of you, and we’ve heard a similar theme: You want to connect with parks in your part of the Atlanta region. So, we’re shifting our model to do just that! We are offering sub-region orientations to provide you with opportunities to build community with other nearby Friends groups. Please register for one of the following events:

South & West Atlanta: September 15, 6:00-7:30pm, C.T. Martin Recreation Center Auditorium #2 (3201 M.L.K. Jr Dr SW, Atlanta, GA 30311). Ample parking available in the parking lot. Click here for details and registration.

South DeKalb: September 28, 6:00-7:30pm, East Central DeKalb Community & Senior Center (4885 Elam Rd, Stone Mountain, GA 30083). Ample parking available in the parking lot. Click here for details and registration.

North DeKalb/Brookhaven: September 29, 6:30-8pm, Briarwood Park Recreation Center (2235 Briarwood Way NE, Brookhaven, GA 30319). Ample parking available in the parking lot. Click here for details and registration.

Central Atlanta: October 5, 6:30-8pm, Lang Carson Recreation Center (100 Flat Shoals Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30316). Street parking available as well as in the parking lot. Use the form below to register.

North Atlanta: October 6, 6:00-7:30pm, Chastain Park (4001 Powers Ferry Road Atlanta GA 30342). Follow signs, drive through the golf course, and follow GPS. Orientation will be held in the white building. Click here for details and registration.

No matter where your group is on its journey, there’s something here for you:
New to Friends of the Park? Get oriented to the resources, tools, and partner organizations available to you, and meet other groups who’ve been in your shoes. You don’t have to figure it all out on your own — learn firsthand from Friends groups who’ve already navigated the early days.
Established and growing? Get the latest on grant opportunities and other resources to help you take on bigger park projects as your group’s capacity expands.
A long-time Friends group? Bring your hard-won knowledge to the table. This is a chance to mentor newer groups, share what’s worked (and what hasn’t), and help strengthen the broader community of park groups in your area.

We’ll share updated information on Park Pride programs and resources, answer your questions, and build in dedicated time for groups to network and swap ideas. Please RSVP by September 10 to reserve your spot!
