Park Pride welcomes five new leaders to Board of Directors

Park Pride is thrilled to welcome five park champions who are joining its Board of Directors! These individuals will work alongside the rest of the Board and the Park Pride team to ensure that all Atlantans have access to a great park. As the organization comes out of Parks for All, a multi-year comprehensive campaign, the Board will assist in creating an updated strategic plan that will guide the organization over the next three years.

Omari Henderson, on the Board since 2021, will continue to serve as Board Chair. Henderson works in Innovation and Business Development at Chick-fil-A’s Corporate Support Center. With a love for art and giving back to the community, Henderson is the co-owner of the ZuCot Gallery, a fine art gallery with the largest inventory of African American art in the Southeast. He is also the founder of the Youth Challenge Incorporated Foundation, a nonprofit that provides a mentoring program for young men.

Alex Brown, Partner at Alston & Bird LLP, has been on the board since 2022 and recently stepped into a new role as Vice Chair. Having previously served as the Chair of the Development Committee, Alex has shown a strong commitment to Park Pride and its mission, and he is excited about this new chapter.

The five new board members include:

Joe Bolling, who has more than 15 years of legal experience at two large Atlanta companies and a top Atlanta law firm. He currently serves as the Associate General Counsel – Corporate at Novelis, a leading sustainable aluminum solutions provider. Joe brings strategic planning and project management skills that will benefit Park Pride’s strategic planning efforts. Joe’s favorite park is Morningside’s Sidney Marcus Park.

Alex Dileo, Senior Advancement Officer at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Alex has worked with Park Pride in several capacities, including during her time as Associate Director of Coxe Curry & Associates. Alex currently serves on the Atlanta Mayor’s Climate Resilience Advisory Council, the Food Well Alliance Board of Directors and others, and is part of LEAD Atlanta’s Class of 2026. Her favorite park is Oakland Cemetery – so much so that she even got married there.

Sylia Obagi, who serves as Executive Director (CEO) of the Winston Family Foundation. In this role, she has led the design of major cross-sector, place-based philanthropic initiatives and looks forward to bringing her expertise on financial oversight, fundraising, strategic planning and governance to Park Pride’s Board. She currently serves on the North Carolina Network of Grantmakers and Philanthropy Southeast. Sylia’s favorite park activity is attending festivals and concerts.

Jennifer Weizenecker, a Partner at Jones Day, has actively engaged in the Atlanta community by partnering with nonprofits, schools and local leaders on a variety of initiatives. Jennifer has served on the UNICEF USA Advisory Board Atlanta since 2016. She brings expertise in community organizing, DEI, fundraising, legal and strategic planning. Her favorite park activity is walking her basset hound and fellow park lover, Lincoln.

Jennifer Winn, who has over 20 years of experience in energy utility, looks forward to bringing her knowledge in fundraising, real estate and development, and strategic planning. As Vice President of Land Department at Georgia Power, Jennifer is responsible for real estate support and maintaining community relationships. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the YWCA of Greater Atlanta, the Georgia Conservancy, the Georgia Forestry Foundation, Invest Atlanta Partnership and Trees Atlanta. Jennifer enjoys playing with her kids at Atlanta Memorial Park.

“As I enter my second year as Board Chair, I look forward to continuing to help leverage the skills of the Park Pride team and the talents of the Board and new board members during this key period of growth following the tremendous success of our Parks for All Campaign,” Henderson said. “As we continue our strategic planning process, I’m truly excited about what the next few years will hold for Park Pride as we build upon our mission to engage communities to activate the power of parks.”

Several board members concluded their terms of service in June 2025, including Kristy Rachal (Georgia Power) who helped guide Park Pride’s Parks for All Campaign as Board Chair, Jeff Ellman (Jones Day) who most recently served as Vice Chair and has completed two six-year terms on the Board, and Wesley Brooks (Georgia Department of Community Affairs).
