Atlanta still contains original forest—a priceless asset. ECO-A presents an author talk and panel discussion featuring Joan Maloof,  celebrated forest ecology author and founder of the Old Growth Forest Network.

Joan’s engaging perspective is a welcome addition to the global dialogue on forest value. She will share the newest research on the fascinating, complex relationships that sustain old growth forests, and induct several Atlanta greenspaces into the Old Growth Forest Network.

There will also be a panel discussion on Atlanta Urban Forest, moderated by Maria Saporta, featuring:

  • Stephanie Stuckey Benfeld, City of Atlanta Chief Resiliency Officer
  • Jacqueline Echols, PhD, Director, South River Watershed Alliance
  • Darryl Haddock, Director of Education, West Atlanta Watershed Alliance Professor
  • John Wegman, Environmental Studies, Emory University, former Campus Environmental Officer

Books will be available for purchase and author-signing.

There is no charge to attend this event!
