Such an amazing day at our Greener Good Day at Collier Park, getting into the *volunteer spirit* and celebrating the season with a blueberry planting, made possible by the Habersham Garden Club!

A small group of volunteers got into the *volunteer spirit* at this festival Greener Good Volunteer Day at Collier Park, hosted by Park Pride in partnership with the Friends of Collier Park and with the support of the Habersham Garden Club.
Though the morning started out soggy with rain, volunteers were greeted with hot coffee and a delicious breakfast provided by the Friends of Collier Park. Children from the community were invited to get into the spirit of the season with festive face paintings!
Volunteers cleaned and prepared garden beds for fall planting, and even planted 18 blueberry bushes donated by the Habersham Garden Club in celebration of their 90th anniversary. Volunteers also limbed tree branches that were preventing sunlight from reaching the garden and refreshed the playground with a good scrub.
The Friends of the Park group is thrilled with the results and are looking forward to enjoying the blueberries and sharing them with the community one they fruit!
Thank you to all of the volunteers who braved the rain and joined us this morning! And our deepest appreciation to the Habersham Garden Club for making this project possible.
We hope to see you at the next Greener Good Volunteer Day! Check the Park Pride calendar for opportunities to give back to your community:
