Join us for this citywide volunteer initiative! Each February, community partners, nonprofits, conservancies, and Friends of the Park groups host volunteer days that engage residents in hands-on projects to help care for, beautify, and strengthen Atlanta’s parks. Let’s show our parks some love all month long! šŸ’•

Wednesday, Feb. 4

Oakland Cemetery - PASSED

Oakland Cemetery | 10 am – 12 pm

Let’s give some love to the historic Oakland Cemetery! Volunteers will help maintain and beautify an area of unwanted growth to become a healthier and more aesthetic environment.

Saturday, Feb. 7

Historic Fourth Ward Park - PASSED

Historic Fourth Ward Park | 10 am – 12:30 pm

Join us in showing some love to Historic Fourth Ward Park! Volunteers will help mulch, weed and collect litter around the playground and northern portion of the park.

Morningside/Lenox Park - PASSED

Morningside/Lenox Park | 9 am – 12 pm

Help plant 200 bare roots in Morningside Nature Preserve! These trees will provide cleaner air, cool shade, and all-around improved habitat for humans and wildlife living in our community. Volunteers will help with digging holes with shovels/mattocks, untangling roots, mulching, watering, and cleaning up the area.

Piedmont Park | 9 – 11 am

Let’s give some love to Atlanta’s most visited park! Volunteers will help steward the needs of the park, including weeding, mulching, and litter collection.

Chastain Park | 10 am – 12 pm

Let’s put in some elbow grease at Chastain Park! Volunteers will help with projects like mulching, planting, litter pickup, weeding, trail touch-ups, etc. No special skills required, just bring your energy and a willingness to leave the park better than you found it!

Friday, Feb. 13

Grant Park - PASSED

Grant Park | 9 – 11 am

Let’s show some love to Grant Park! Volunteers will tackle labor-intensive projects throughout the park including removing invasive plants, beautification and maintenance projects, and tree canopy care. You will get dirty and make a visible impact in the park!

Let’s give Washington Park some TLC! Volunteers will assist with underbrush clearing, bulb plantings, mulching, and trash cleanup.

Freedom Park - PASSED

Freedom Park | 11 am – 2 pm

Let’s show some love to Freedom Park’s trails! Volunteers will work together to clear brush and leaves, pull debris from wooded areas, fill trash bags with litter, haul out larger discarded items, and help improve the heavily used access points on the Freedom Park Trail & Beltline Connector.

Volunteers will spend the morning picking up litter, restoring the creekside, and showing gratitude for the natural environment that sustains our community. It’s a joyful way to honor the Chattahoochee River by caring for the waters that feed it. Because loving the river means loving its whole watershed!

If volunteers are under 16 years of age, a parent must accompany them.
