Celebrate Your Completed Park Improvement!

Planning form for parks in the City of Atlanta

Congratulations! You’re close to completing your park improvement project. That means that it’s time to begin planning a community celebration to mark your achievement.

Every park improvement is worthy of recognition, and the size and scope of the improvement will determine the scale of the celebration for which you should plan. While sometimes a smaller community gathering is appropriate, larger park improvement projects may require official City of Atlanta ribbon cuttings with involvement from the Department of Parks & Recreation and the Mayor’s Office.

Please complete the form below to begin planning!

Park Improvement Project Community Celebration Form

  1. Complete the form below 6-8 weeks in advance of your preferred community celebration date. The earlier you begin planning, the more likely that you’ll be able to secure a preferred date.
  2. Park Pride and the Department of Parks & Recreation will review your request and the details of your park improvement project, and make a recommendation as to the appropriate size and scale of the community celebration.
  3. If it is determined that a park project requires an official City of Atlanta ribbon cutting, you may be asked to consider alternative dates. You will also work with Park Pride and the Department of Parks & Recreation to finalize the ribbon cutting event plan (staging, program, speakers, invitations, etc.), which may include site visits, and planning calls and emails.

Questions should be sent to Kayla Altland, Park Pride, at kayla@parkpride.org.

  • You may also provide two alternative dates / times for consideration. Please note: if it is determined that your park improvement project requires an official City of Atlanta ribbon cutting, you may be asked to consider alternative dates.
