Friends of the Park groups come in many varied varieties. Some have a handful of members, others have dozens; Some are active on a regular basis, some are not. Guest speakers will cover some of the basics of their groups’ structure and governance, and ways to achieve success, avoid burnout and maintain group sustainability. You’ll hear from three Park Stewardship Academy alums, including Carrie Salvary, Board Chair of the Alliance for Cook Park; Greta Hutton, Friends of Herbert Taylor Park; Katie Paden, Friends of Melton Park. Come learn from your peers!

This virtual workshop will also include resources for developing group bylaws and guidance on conducting meetings. Friends groups of all types and tenures will be present.
