Take a look at our Impact Report to join us on a journey through some of our transformational projects, meet key park champions and learn more about our highly impactful Parks for All campaign.
Parks for All has allowed us to expand our services, deepen our impact, create more park advocates, and increase funding for parks with an emphasis on low-income communities. This is our most ambitious undertaking in our 35-year history and the campaign has equipped us to provide tangible investment, thought leadership, and continuity for parks and greenspaces in Atlanta.
Your gift will support Park Pride’s growth in three primary areas:
#1. Scaling Investment in Community-led Park Improvements
Through Parks for All, we have doubled our annual awards to communities through our Grantmaking Program from $1.3 million in 2021 to $2.6 million in 2023. With a combination of private and public funding, Park Pride awarded over $4 million in park improvements to 37 parks in 2024, with approximately 50% of these funds going to park projects in historically disinvested communities.
#2. Strengthening Park Community Groups & Creating New Park Advocates
Building upon the success of our engagement and educational strategies to date, Park Pride is equipping neighborhood residents to become high-impact agents of change in their parks and in their communities through the Park Stewardship Academy. This leadership development program focuses on skill development, expansion of community engagement and park access, mentorship, advocacy opportunities, and relationship building. In September, the second cohort of 12 park leaders embarked on their skill-building journey.
#3. Building Park Pride’s Capacity to Meet the Moment
Campaign funding supports Park Pride’s respected and comprehensive set of programs that work directly with communities in a place-based manner. Additionally, to have the bench strength to support expanded services, we are making our most significant investment in building internal capacity in 35 years, investing in current staff, adding key new hires, and strengthening our internship program to prepare the environmental leaders of tomorrow.
