SUMMARY:Second Friday Walk in the Park
DESCRIPTION:Want to raise your Park IQ? \nJoin us on Friday\, December 8 at Frazier-Rowe Park in DeKalb County. The nine-acre park boasts walking trails\, a pollinator garden\, a playground\, an exercise area and more. The park is also a certified Wildlife Sanctuary\, with a variety of plants native to Georgia and the Southeast region that allow the local birds and bees to flourish. \nThis is the second installment of Second Friday Walk in the Park\, a program designed to help folks get to know new parks\, connect with local outdoor enthusiasts and get inspired by the power of parks! \nJoin us at Frazier-Rowe to learn more about this park that’s hiding in plain sight! \nADDITIONAL DETAILS: \n\nPark in the Vista Grove Plaza Shopping Center on the LaVista Rd. side of the lot (away from the store fronts).  The group will convene at the southwest corner of the park adjacent to LaVista Rd.\nWe will be walking on natural surface trails.\nDress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.\n\nHave a suggestion for a park we should visit next? DESCRIPTION:Join us on Friday\, December 15 at 1 p.m. to celebrate the unveiling of West Cascade Park and its new playground — the first park playground in NPU Q! \nThrough Park Pride’s Grantmaking Program\, the Friends of West Cascade Park was awarded $300\,000 to purchase and install playground and recreation equipment\, with $150\,000 coming from Moving Atlanta Forward discretionary funds supported by Councilmember Marci Collier Overstreet.  \nAlong with Mayor Dickens\, Councilmember Overstreet and Commissioner Cutler\, we will celebrate the park’s new amenities. Join us to see the new West Cascade Park! \n(Parking can be found along Nisky Lake Rd SW.)
