DESCRIPTION:In honor of National Parks and Recreation Month\, the Friends of Flat Shoals Park & Dottie Bridges Tennis invite you to “Book It to the Park” to support children’s literacy in the outdoors. The group requests new or gently used book donations appropriate for children aged 2-12 for the Book Box at Flat Shoals Park. \nBring the kids for a StoryWalk (R)\, Chalk Walk\, and Rock Painting from 10:30a-12:30p. DESCRIPTION:Do you have an idea for a signage project in your neighborhood park? Do you have historical research to share with your community? Does your park trail system need a wayfinding system? Would you like to describe some of the plants\, animals\, or ecosystems in your park? Then this is the opportunity for you!  \nPark Pride is seeking applications from registered Friends of Park groups who need guidance on a specific park signage project. We will select up to five groups to work one-on-one with a landscape architect or graphic designer to develop recommendations for your proposed project.  \n  \nApply\nApplication Deadline: July 29th at 11:59 p.m.  \n  \nIf you’re not sure whether your project is a good fit\, please reach out to Andrew White\, Director of Park Visioning\, to discuss: andrew@parkpride.org / (678) 551.9122 \nSelected groups must be available to present their completed designs at the Park Design Workshop\, scheduled for Wednesday\, September 28\, 2022\, 6-7pm.
