The 280-acre park was developed on the site of the former Bellwood Quarry and features a reservoir\, trails\, meadows and incredible views of the Atlanta skyline. Recently renamed in honor of Atlanta’s 56th mayor\, the park stands as a testament to both natural beauty and civic legacy. Thanks to the leadership of Friends of Shirley Clarke Franklin Park\, this space continues to evolve as a gathering place\, a sanctuary\, and a shining example of community-driven transformation. \nOur walk will be approximately one mile along a paved route with a few steep hills.
