SUMMARY:Second Friday Walk in the Park - The Garden Brookhaven Park
DESCRIPTION:This event has passed. \nExplore local hidden gems with Park Pride! Join us on Friday\, June 13 at 9 a.m. to explore The Garden at Brookhaven Park with the Brookhaven Park Conservancy! \nBrookhaven Park is a 20.8 acre go-to destination for recreation and relaxation in the heart of Brookhaven. It also boasts the tallest playground in the U.S.\, a centerpiece designed to inspire adventure and active play. The park also features a serene community garden. For pet owners\, the fully fenced dog park is a highlight\, complete with a splash pad to keep furry friends cool and entertained. \nFollowing the one-hour walk\, Friends of the Park members are invited to stick around for a meeting on grants and funding\, offering insights into how Friends groups can secure resources to grow and sustain their parks. We’ll have taken a short tour of the garden and park as well as celebrate an exciting win — the Garden at Brookhaven Park’s recent successful application for a Small Change Grant! This is a great opportunity to see how Park Pride’s Small Change Grant Program can make a meaningful impact and to learn from the group’s experience. Whether you’re looking for grant opportunities\, curious about the grant process\, or just want to connect with fellow Friends groups\, we’d love to see you there! \nParking: When turning into the parking lot\, turn left to go around the parking circle. Park on the far left side of the lot (when looking at the building) and enter near the community garden.
