SUMMARY:City Nature Challenge BioBlitz at Chosewood Park
DESCRIPTION:This is a family friendly event from 10am to noon on Saturday\, April 29th\, 2023. \nPark Pride will lead park visitors on an urban park adventure documenting plants\, fungi\, and animals in the iNaturalist smartphone app as part of the City Nature Challenge (April 28 – May 1)! We can finally put Chosewood on the map! \nMeet at park parking lot. There is plenty of street parking in the neighborhood. \nThis is a FREE event open to all ages no experience needed. \nThe goal of City Nature Challenge is for each participating city (Atlanta is one of 500+ cities worldwide!) to get citizens outside and photo documenting as many wild organisms (plants/animals/fungi) as possible during the designated 4-day Challenge. The data collected has the power to help us learn more about our parks and greenspaces. Anyone can participate\, from novices to experts! \nPlease sign up through the link below to let us know you’re coming and so that we can communicate any changes that may arise. \nSign Up\n — Registration is closed \n  \n\nSponsored by\n

SUMMARY:Park Design Workshop: Inclusive Play
DESCRIPTION:Parks are meant to be places for the entire community to enjoy\, but they frequently fall short of that aspiration. As “park people\,” we are constantly imagining new ways to make our parks more inclusive and accessible for people of all ages and abilities\, but how does that translate into the built environment and in particular our park playgrounds? \nJoin Park Pride as we discuss the principles of inclusive play with internationally recognized play expert\, Meghan Talarowski. Then hear from local Friends of Park leaders and landscape architects on how they are planning to apply these principles in their own parks right here in Atlanta! This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from your peers and discover how park and playground design can bring us closer to a truly inclusive park system. \nThis event is free and open to registered Friends of Park groups. If your group is not registered\, you may do so here: https://parkpride.org/we-can-help/annual-registration-form/ \nDue to capacity limitations\, please limit the number of attendees from your group to two. \nOops!
