SUMMARY:Second Friday Walk in the Park
DESCRIPTION:If you live in Atlanta\, you’ve likely spent a lot of time on Ponce De Leon Ave. But have you ever explored the parks that weave alongside the bustling road? Join us for our Second Friday Walk in the Park to do just that! \nOn Friday\, July 12 at 9 a.m.\, join us for a one-hour walk at DeKalb County’s Deepdene Park\, the easternmost segment of the six-part Olmsted Linear Park. The 22-acre woodland features several walking trails that wind through remnants of old growth forest and near stream corridors. Designed in 1893\, the park was named “Deepdene” for its steep slopes toward a tributary of Peavine Creek. \nCome explore with us! Bring your coffee and your walking shoes. \nNOTE: We will meet at the trailhead closest to 2076 N Ponce De Leon Ave NE. Street parking is available\, please be mindful to not block any driveways. The walk will be less than 1 mile covering mostly gravel and dirt paths.
