Starting Point –Elliot Street Deli & Pub
We’ll meet here to kick-off the ride in conjunction with the Atlanta Cycling Festival at 2pm on Saturday, June 7!
Stop 1 – 5th Kingdom
According to their website 5th Kingdom is “passionate about producing the finest quality, freshest, best tasting, and most nutritious mushrooms available in Atlanta.” Mushrooms – something completely different that we haven’t yet explored on a past Community Garden Tour. We’re pumped to take you to this self-declared “unconventional farm”!
Stop 2 – Good Shepherd Agro Ecology Center
The Agro Ecology Center is a prototype to improve community food access, educate community on local flora, and establish a neighborhood fruit orchard. Check out their photos on Facebook – give them a “Like” while you’re there!
Stop 3 – The Outdoor Activity Center
This 26-acre urban nature preserve includes about 2.0 miles of trails, as well as a team-building ropes course and a children’s nature themed playground. Adjacent to the facility is the community-run vegetable garden. Just look at the size of that bean!
Quick Look – Westview Community Garden
In 2014, this garden received a seed donation from the Herman’s Garden program at Seed Savers Exchange. The donation will allow the garden to grow an extensive variety of crops for the community and start a seed saving program that will provide for future years. Read more about the garden on the Westview Community website and see some pictures on their Facebook page!
End at Elliot Street Deli & Pub.
Have a drink. Rest your legs 🙂
